KAUKAUNA, Wis. (Nov. 3, 2011) – Milk Source Holdings, Inc. has announced that Ermith Ocampo, a 15-year-veteran of the dairy company, has been promoted to Livestock Manager over all of the company’s dairies.
Ocampo, most recently herd manager at Milk Source’s Calf Source farm in Greenleaf, joined Milk Source in 1996 as a milker at Tidy View Dairy in Kaukauna. He moved through the ranks as a herdsman’s assistant, hoof trimmer, breeder, dry cow manager and parlor manager, all at Tidy View, before being promoted to herd manager at Calf Source.
In his new role, Ocampo will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating health, nutrition and quality care for all of Milk Source’s animals.
Ocampo lives in Little Chute with his wife, Celia, and their two children, Ermith, 15, and Kaitlin, 8.
Milk Source Holdings announces long-term agreement to operate Calf Source of Greenleaf, WI
KAUKAUNA, Wis. (Feb. 1, 2011) – Milk Source Holdings, Inc. has announced a long term lease and option to purchase Greenleaf, WI-based Calf Source from JBS USA.
Calf Source, 3586 Cooperstown Road, De Pere, has been responsible for raising dairy calves for dairy producers in Northeast Wisconsin since September of 2000. The farm was originally founded by Milk Source and was sold to Smithfield Beef Group in 2004. Smithfield later sold Calf Source to JBS USA in 2008.
“We have enjoyed a strong working relationship with Calf Source and JBS and we believe it will be a perfect fit to bring Calf Source back into the Milk Source organization,” said partner Jim Ostrom.
Calf Source raises calves until they are about six months old, at which time the calves are raised on heifer farms until returning to their home dairy at approximately 2 years old.
Dairy Veteran Juan Quezada of Kaukauna promoted to Milk Source Director of Safety
KAUKAUNA, Wis. (July 15, 2010) – Milk Source Holdings, Inc. has announced that Juan Quezada, a 12-year-veteran of the dairy company, has been promoted to Director of Safety over all of its dairies.
Quezada joined Milk Source in 1998 after 17 years in the dairy farm business in Texas, New Mexico and California, and has served as dry cow manager at Tidy View Dairy, as well as Herd Manager at Omro Dairy.
Milk Source Holdings currently operates four dairy farms in Wisconsin -- Milk Source Genetics in Kaukauna, Omro Dairy, Tidy View Dairy in Kaukauna and Rosendale Dairy. Milk Source also recently announced plans to add a new dairy in New Chester.
