Driver/Milk Hauler

Position Title: Driver/Milk Hauler

Overall Responsibilities: Transports raw milk from dairy to processing plant in a safe manner while ensuring proper techniques, principals, and procedures are followed which support the company’s policies, goals, and objectives. CDL with Endorsement: N-Tank Vehicles required.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate milk tanker in compliance with company rules, regulations, and policies while adhering to all safety practices
  • Complete appropriate paperwork at farm and dairy plants.
  • Maintain clean trucks and tankers both inside and out and report defects immediately
  • Wash truck & tanker while in dairy plant milk intake daily.
  • Follows schedule and designated route from location to predetermined destination
  • Maintains positive communications with the Herd and Operations staff and report concerns to Supervisor
  • Report any issues or incidents that may arise at the Dairy or on the road
  • Measures milk loaded into trailer
  • Loads and unloads product
  • Adheres to all Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures as well as all Safety policies and procedures and reports deficiencies immediately
  • Ability to communicate respectfully with peers, vendors, and community members
  • Conducts Pre and Post trip inspections
  • Maintains all required certifications
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Attributes:

Physical, Mental & Visual Skills:

  • Normal demands associated with commercial truck driving
  • Some strenuous work involving lifting, connecting, disconnecting hoses.
  • Ladder climbing to access top of tank trailers and farm tanks.
  • Normal exertion associated with hooking and unhooking trucks and trailers.
  • Employee is frequently (more than 75% of time) required to: use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls, sit; to verbally communicate; and to hear.
  • The employee is occasionally (up to 33% of the time) required to walk and stand.
  • The employee must occasionally (up to 33% of the time) lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
